Culture & Relaxation
Mercury Ridge’s convenient location makes it easy to access activities that are a little more slow-paced. If you’re after some pampering, spend the day at The Lost Spring in Whitianga and experience the geo-thermal pools, day spa and wonderful restaurant. You can sip refreshing cocktails while exploring the pools—and they’re open in any weather.
History buffs will enjoy a visit to the Mercury Bay Museum, situated just a ferry ride away on the Esplanade in Whitianga. Peruse exhibits exploring New Zealand’s culture, nature and livelihoods all within the old dairy factory in which the museum is located.
Tairua, Whangamata, Hot Water Beach, Whitianga and Coromandel Town are all home to some charming art galleries, showcasing and retailing unique fine art, jewellery and sculpture by established Coromandel artists.

Mercury Ridge is a WONDERFUL place to stay. We don’t normally stay at resorts that only serve breakfast, but Jo and Tom’s lodge is exceptional.
