The Health and Safety of our guests, family and staff is a priority at Mercury Ridge.


Under the Covid-19 protection framework (also known as the traffic light system), Mercury Ridge will operate with a Vaccine Pass requirement from 3rd December 2021 until further notice. For more detail on what this means please refer to:


Upon arrival, your Vaccine Pass will be scanned for verification using the NZ Pass Verifier by one of our team members and checked against your photo identification. Unfortunately, we will be unable to welcome any guests who do not hold a Vaccine Pass until further notice. Please know that this is a system we must adhere to from the government, to protect our customers, business and staff.


All of our cleaning team, suppliers and staff ensure that rigorous Covid-19 systems are in place to clean and sanitise our lodge to the highest standards.


We have always met or exceeded the NZ government, Ministry of Health (NZ), and the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations for safety policies in place to minimise the spread of Covid-19, including contact tracing, personal hygiene (including proper handwashing and/or use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers), mask-wearing, social distancing, and robust cleaning and sterilisation practices.


All staff and suppliers responsible for cleaning at Mercury Ridge have been trained in these hygiene systems. All cleaning staff have PPE, gloves, masks and hand sanitiser. In keeping with Covid-19 guidelines, extra attention is placed on all high use points, including door handles, electrical switches, taps, doors, handrails, plumbing fixtures and remote controls.

Mercury Ridge is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected using high-grade cleaning products.

Covid-19 Cancellations

We are offering flexible booking arrangements during these uncertain times.  Anyone who has booked direct with Mercury Ridge will be able to move their booking to a later date without penalty should Government COVID 19 travel restrictions apply. This means there will be no change fees* for guests who book with us direct through our website and need to cancel due to Government COVID 19 travel restrictions. *Seasonal rate differences may apply if you wish to rebook in a different season.

Note this only applies to cancellations made as a result of COVID 19 travel restrictions and/or lockdown levels in New Zealand.
